Six-year-old Ava Bell Reynolds of Highland Village charmed the crowd and was just as charming while describing her winning entry in the Dallas Morning News-Central Market cookie contest. 

At a winner's ceremony, Ava Bell's name was called and she was smiles while she received recognition as the Kids Choice winner from Erin Booke, The News' How We Live assistant editor. 

The 22nd annual contest took place Nov. 2. Profiles on the winners and recipes will be published online in early December and in the newspaper on Dec. 6. 

Ava said she "felt really shocked" when she heard her name called. 

Her winning entry was named A Few of My Favorite Things bars.

Cookies were made available to guests and contestants at The Dallas Morning News-Central Market holiday cookie contest at Central Market in Dallas.
