SCOTLAND’S national chef and MasterChef champion has been appointed food ambassador for the Scottish Salmon Company (SSC).
Gary Maclean — MasterChef: The Professionals winner — who has taught at City of Glasgow College for more than 17 years, and is called ‘MacChef’ by his students, will represent the SSC’s focus on health and wellbeing.
Maclean has previously worked with the SSC on developing recipes with City of Glasgow College students.
In his new role with SSC, Maclean will continue to create new recipes using sea loch fresh Scottish salmon, as well as educating Scottish people to use salmon when cooking. All of the recipes created with Maclean will be available on the SSC website.
Maclean said: “I’m passionate about cooking with local produce from the great Scottish larder, especially salmon.”
Craig Anderson of the SSC said: “Gary’s passion for quality and provenance perfectly mirrors our core values and we are excited to be working closely with him.”
